Arsenal transfer news and rumours: New Calvert-Lewin move, Matt Turner deal, Aubameyang preview

Following where Arsenal go from here will be fascinating.

Although Mikel Arteta’s side have certainly made progress this season, there is still work to be done if they really want to cement their place in the top four and duly return to the Champions League. For many, this hinges on buying a striker.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left out of the draw and Dusan Vlahovic now officially a Juventus player, the club will have to settle something quickly if they really want to improve their front line by the end of the transfer window.

Naturally, the proverbial rumor mill has kicked into high gear.

Here’s everything you need to know.

The England international has long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium but, given Everton’s position, the Merseyside side appear unwilling to sanction a departure for the striker.

Juventus Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo had become a target earlier this month but any move now seems unlikely.

According to The Daily Mail, the prospect of an 18-month loan deal appears to have fallen apart as the Old Lady is unwilling to let him go without finding a replacement.

Arsenal are considering a move for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, writes Jack Rosser of Standard Sport.

The 23-year-old has thrived at Villa Park since leaving the Etihad but is stalling on a new deal and is attracting a lot of interest.

Matt Turner

Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to sign USMNT international Matt Turner on a permanent deal.

This could, in turn, allow Bernd Leno to leave after the German lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale.

Barcelona and Juventus have both made loan moves for the former Arsenal captain.

The Gabon international hasn’t traveled with the rest of the squad for their hot-weather training camp in Dubai and at least seems destined for a temporary departure.
