GHACEM Partners with KNUST to Launch Cement Ratio Mixing App for Masons

Ghana Cement Manufacturing Company (Ghacem) has launched an app on Google and IOS platforms to help masons know about the safety of using cement as well as its application in the country.
The app, according to Ghacem’s management, was to teach masons across the country about cement ratio mixes to build their confidence and skills in the built environment of the economy.
The online application launched in collaboration with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) aimed to correct the misuse of cement products among others in the sector.
Speaking on Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Kwame Appiah Kubi in a one-to-one interview, Mr. Benny Fifi Eshun, Head of Marketing and PR at Ghacem, said the introduction of the app aimed to correct some of the myths about the use of cement.
“Many times people use cement without knowing the proper ratios for quality work,” he said.
In addition to online platforms, the company, with the help of some Construction and Technology Management (CTM) students from KNUST, has set up a mobile training van that travels from area to area. the other to provide on-site training to masons.
“All the masons who participate in the Ghacem training exercise receive pots, trowels, washing cans, among others,” he added.
All of this is aimed at making understandable the work of a mason,” he noted.
