Light winter mix possible today; regular showers arrive in the night

A wave of light rain, snow and graupel is moving over central Indiana this Saturday morning. The icy mix will not stay all day and most activity will slide east of the area at 2 p.m. Some clouds might even break up later in the day, which will help temperatures rise into the mid-upper 40s by late afternoon.

A larger storm system will move through the Midwest overnight and bring a more favorable chance of showers to central Indiana. Precipitation will fill up in the area after midnight and activity will continue through Sunday morning. The round of rain is associated with a cold frontal border, which will allow temperatures to drop at the start of the week!

A cold snap is expected on Monday and Tuesday! Bitter air will push through the region on Monday. Winds will pick up and showers may even be possible early in the day. This afternoon’s highs will struggle to reach the mid 30’s. We also got to see the coldest air of the season (so far) early Tuesday morning with teenage lows!
