Adult roommate Laziz Rustamov took a trip down memory lane inside the ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ house as he remembered being a construction worker during his teenage years in Uzbekistan.

In Friday’s episode, Rustamov opened up about growing up in his home country where he usually joined construction workers when they were doing renovations to earn money.

According to him, he was transporting bricks and mixing cement on several construction sites. He also tried different summer jobs like cleaning air conditioning units.

“[During] my childhood, at 14-15 years old, we needed money. If someone does renovations, they can pay us less than the adults. We were young,” he told Big Brother.

“In construction, we brought cement. I used to carry cement, bricks or mix. In the summer, when we do nothing, we look for any job like cleaning the air conditioning.

Rustamov, however, clarified that his mother did not force him to work from an early age, as it was his personal decision.

“There are times when you want to spend more time with friends or want to play football,” Rustamov noted.

Rustamov said he understands that not everyone has the same fate in life.

“Not everyone is the same. I don’t really remember friends who worked with me or liked me. They have their families providing them…that’s fine too. It’s just the life. I learned a lot, so it will be easier in the future,” he said.

Impressed by Rustamov’s character, “Kuya” praised his roommate for being a responsible son to his mother.

“The nakikita ko ngayon sa harapan ko is a napakaresponsableng anak. Ako is naniniwala na bukod sa pera na kinita Monday noon and ibinibigay mo sa nanay mo is ikaw ang tunay niyang kayamanan,” Big Brother said.

The adult roommates face their second weekly task where they must build a six-foot-tall house through blocks, boxes, and cubes, but without using their bare hands.
